Co-Founder and Chairman
Charles is the Chairman and a co-founder of Argus. He is a managing partner at Intervale Capital, LLC, a private equity firm he co-founded in 2006 dedicated to investing in middle-market energy service and manufacturing companies. Prior to that, he managed two smaller private equity firms focused on buyouts in the energy, transportation and manufacturing sectors. Charles has over 20 years of private equity experience. Before launching his first fund, Charles spent three years with British private equity fund in Vietnam. Charles also worked for Credit Suisse in New York.
Charles received an M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in History from Wesleyan University.
Charles is married with three sons and lives in Houston.
Troy is a Partner of Argus. He has over 22 years of financial and executive experience across the energy industry. Prior to Argus, Troy served as President and CEO of two different private equity backed companies, R360 Environmental Solutions, the nation’s largest drilling and production waste management provider for the oil and gas industry and Total Safety, Inc., a safety services and equipment company which serves multinational oil and gas, industrial and process industry customers in more than 26 countries. Prior to these roles Troy was a founding partner of Paine & Partners, LLC, a private equity investment firm that, along with its predecessors, managed over $3 billion in institutional capital.
Troy received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rice University.
Troy is married with three children and lives in Houston.
Chief Financial Officer
Heather Amato is the Chief Financial Officer of Argus. Prior to Argus, Heather served as the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Rock Hill Capital Group, a private equity firm which focused on small to lower middle market companies and specialized in industrial products and oil field services. Prior to joining Rock Hill, Heather served as Vice President of Wealth Management Group at Kanaly Trust and as a Tax Manager for Margolis, Phipps & Wright, PC. She began her career at Arthur Andersen, PC in 1997.
Heather received a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Public Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas.
Heather is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, Association for Corporate Growth and Private Equity CFO Association.
Steve leads Argus' research efforts across all energy sub sectors. Prior to Argus, Steve served as Director of Intervale Capital and its predecessor, where he was responsible for oilfield services research and was involved with portfolio management. He has more than 12 years of experience in oil & gas sector research. He started his career at MFS Investment Management, a mutual fund company with over $400 billion under management.
Steve received a B.A. in Economics from Wheaton College (MA) and an M.B.A, with honors, from Kent Business School in Canterbury, England.
Steve lives with his wife and two daughters in Houston, Texas.
General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
Karthik is the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of Argus and is responsible for Argus’ legal, regulatory, compliance and corporate governance functions. Mr. Narasimhan was previously a Vice President and Senior Counsel at Affiliated Managers Group, Inc., a publicly traded (NYSE: AMG) company that invests in leading boutique investment management firms. Mr. Narasimhan advised AMG on a variety of domestic and international transactions.
Prior to joining AMG, Mr. Narasimhan was an associate in the Boston office of Goodwin Procter a prominent global law firm where he counseled public and private companies and private equity firms on mergers and acquisitions and other transactional matters.
Mr. Narasimhan received a B.A. from Brandeis University and a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Prior to joining Argus, Hunt worked as a Planning Advisor for Royal Dutch Shell’s Deepwater business. Before Shell, he worked for six years with Deutsche Bank’s Latin America Investment Banking Group, and one year in corporate development for Ports America, a sponsor-backed infrastructure company.
Hunt lives in Houston and is a Spanish-speaker. He has a Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Yale University.
