Co-Founder and Chairman
Charles is the Chairman and a co-founder of Argus. He is a managing partner at Intervale Capital, LLC, a private equity firm he co-founded in 2006 dedicated to investing in middle-market energy service and manufacturing companies. Prior to that, he managed two smaller private equity firms focused on buyouts in the energy, transportation and manufacturing sectors. Charles has over 20 years of private equity experience. Before launching his first fund, Charles spent three years with British private equity fund in Vietnam. Charles also worked for Credit Suisse in New York.
Charles received an M.B.A., with honors, from the University of Chicago and a B.A. in History from Wesleyan University.
Charles is married with three sons and lives in Houston.
Co-Founder and Director
William is a co-founder of Argus. He is a managing partner at Bayou City Energy Management, LLC, a private equity firm he founded in 2015 focused on capital solutions for small upstream operators. Prior to that, he successfully managed a smaller private equity vehicle, Bayou City Energy Partners, focused on investments in the oil and gas sector. Additionally, William served as Vice President at White Deer Energy, an oil and gas focused private equity firm with $2.2 billion in assets under management, responsible for origination, analysis, structuring and execution of upstream investments. Before White Deer Energy, William served as an Associate in Denham Capital Management’s upstream group.
William received a B.A. in Economics, with honors, from Harvard University.
William is married with two daughters and lives in Houston.
Justin serves as a Director of Argus and is Managing Partner of Cibolo Energy Partners, a Houston-based firm focused on investment opportunities in lower, middle market oil and gas companies in North America. Prior to Cibolo Energy, Justin was a Principal at The Carlyle Group working in the Carlyle Energy Mezzanine Opportunities Group from 2011 through 2016. He was primarily responsible for sourcing, reviewing and structuring upstream investments in the $25-$250 million range and utilized his extensive industry network to originate more than 500 upstream E&P deals. Prior to that, he was Vice President at Imperial Capital, a middle-market focused Energy Investment Banking Group where he focused on financing, mergers and acquisitions and restructuring assignments for upstream and oil service companies. Additionally, Justin was Vice President and a founding member of Petrobridge Investment Management, an energy fund specializing in upstream oil & gas mezzanine investments. Prior to that, he worked in Royal Dutch Shell’s Producer Finance Group which focused on upstream oil and gas mezzanine financings where his team successfully closed and managed a portfolio in excess of $500 million. He has also held previous finance positions at El Paso Energy and Fidelity Investments.
Justin received an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University and a B.S. in Geology from Washington & Lee University.
Justin is married with two sons and lives in Houston.
Troy is a Partner of Argus. He has over 22 years of financial and executive experience across the energy industry. Prior to Argus, Troy served as President and CEO of two different private equity backed companies,R360 Environmental Solutions, the nation’s largest drilling and production waste management provider for the oil and gas industry and Total Safety, Inc., a safety services and equipment company which serves multinational oil and gas, industrial and process industry customers in more than 26 countries. Prior to these roles Troy was a founding partner of Paine & Partners, LLC, a private equity investment firm that, along with its predecessors, managed over $3 billion in institutional capital.
Troy received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rice University.
Troy is married with three children and lives in Houston.
